Characteristics

Koran Juvenile Angelfish

Color: Juveniles have semi-circle bands all over their body of alternating white, blue, and black (as shown above). As they start to mature the bands start to fade and blur. When this happens dark blue bands near the tail begin to look like the Arabic scripts, hence the name Koran Angel. As they become 5 inches in size, they develope a pale green/gold background color with specks of blue and black. When they become an adult, the outline of their bodies become ridged with bright blue and they develope bright blue verticle stripes by their gills (as shown below).
